Paris, Fortaleza and Sao Paolo are full of people heading to Belem for COP 30! You can spot them on the plane- they select the wildlife and nature documentaries (like the very interesting one offered by Air France about how the people of Robinson Crueso Island are coming together to protect and restore their natural resources.)
Scuppered by delays caused by fog, over bookings, cancellations of flights booked by ordinary citizens ( because “more senior” people need them) and an overly complicated system for finding one’s accommodation, we are nevertheless not put off. Messages such as this one, shared on our union group chat, spurred us on:

And some of us had messages to bring. Children and young people from local Brent schools worked on a project to design bunches of climate keys to unlock their futures. I need to hand these over!
