Today I “flew Emirates” (like every good Arsenal fan should!), the gathering of air stewardesses looking a little like a scene from The Handmaid’s Tale before take-off! Flight was uneventful and landed evening in Dubai, by which time the Loss and Damage fund protest had occurred at COP 28 demanding governments pay up!

I can’t claim to have seen Dubai yet; I took a photo from inside the woman’s carriage of the metro but all I got was a reflection of the woman’s carriage of the metro!

Very kindly my UNISON counterpart who has been representing us all for week one of COP 28 met me from the station and accompanied me to the hotel. After checking in we met for a brief but helpful handover.
